Meet the team...

Louise Keyworth

Louise is one of 2 programme leaders for the Create Compete, Collaborate (CCC) initiative. Hosted by Creative Junction, CCC is the South East's primary objective for 2012 relating to children and young people and is delivered in partnership with a number of the region's key governmental, cultural, educational, business, charitable and 3rd sector organisations, with whom she works closely

Louise studied Drama at Cambridge University and trained to be a primary teacher. She taught in London (happily, whilst harbouring wonderlust) then studied for an MA in Performance Studies, which increased her appetite for performance in other parts of the World, and directing. Between 2000-2002 she was Artistic Director of Action Theatre at an educational media NGO in Malawi, creating performances and social mobilisation campaigns around important issues including HIV-AIDS, domestic violence, youth justice & soil erosion.

Unsurprisingly, this experience changed her outlook on many things, including the potential and power of working with communities through creative & participatory techniques. It also demonstrated the importance of understanding and working with different cultures. Since then, Louise has worked as an applied drama practitioner in theatres, schools and communities around London and Berkshire. Between 2004-7, she was part-time Education Manager at Windsor Arts Centre and developed a creative-learning laboratory that made lots of cutting edge practice happen between artists, young people and teachers.

She's delighted to be in this post, bringing together her passion for work with young people, creative processes and doing a bit to make the world an ever-so-slightly better place.

Louise lives in Maidenhead, is married to Mark and has one daughter, Mabel.

Adam Walker

Adam is one of 2 programme leaders for the Create Compete, Collaborate (CCC) initiative. Hosted by Creative Junction, CCC is the South East's primary objective for 2012 relating to children and young people and is delivered in partnership with a number of the region's key governmental, cultural, educational, business, charitable and 3rd sector organisations, with whom he works closely.

Prior to joining Creative Junction, Adam was employed as 2012 Development Officer for Arts Council England, South East, where he lead the development of the Arts Council's strategy for the 2012 Olympic Paralympic Games across the region. This role enabled him to explore the breadth of opportunity presented as a result of the Games coming to London and to appreciate its potential for effecting lasting social change. It is this - and in particular the chance to engage young people with limited access to opportunity around the theme of international understanding – that motivates his enthusiasm for the CCC programme.

He also has significant experience of delivering research and consultancy services for a range of public and private sector organisations. Adam has a joint honours degree in history and politics from the University of Nottingham. He is passionate, probably in order, about music, football and food.

Patty Cohen

Patty Cohen is a skilled coach and mentor, a campaigner, a speaker, a teacher and leader and can be subversive.

As one of the first creative directors to be appointed when it began in 2002, she has helped to shape the hugely influential Creative Partnerships programme.

She is passionate about education and knows from her own experience as a teacher how important creative learning is for young people. She is inspired by the challenge of raising aspirations and creativity through genuine active collaborations between young people, those who work with them and creative practitioners.

During her teaching career, she was seconded for a year to Learning Through Action, achieved an MA in Arts Education, mentored Beginning Teachers for Central School of Speech and Drama and was seconded to Slough Education Action Zone as Creative Coordinator.

Her own arts background is in Community Arts, having been a founder member and chairwoman of Windsor Arts Centre. She has also been a folk singer, directed seven community plays, danced with Windsor Morris, currently sings with the Royal Free Singers Choir, and calls and plays concertina for the ceilidh band, ‘Jigs Might Fly.

She plays golf when she can, would like to write a novel involving twisted psychology and murder, and is pleased to be a grandma.

Jessica Jhundoo

Jessica was delighted to become one of the Creative Junction directors: to establish, shape and develop a growing organisation and lead a great bunch of committed and passionate people.

She has a particular interest in informal learning and is passionate about young people identifying and being confident in the skills and attributes realised and nurtured in their lives outside of formal learning. She is eager to find different approaches and opportunities for learning to ensure that everyone can aspire and take pleasure in their development and growth and be happy and healthy individuals.

Before overseeing the incorporation of Creative Junction as a Community Interest Company, Jessica was operations manager for the Creative Partnerships programme.

Her experience lies in events, projects, operational and financial management, leadership and strategy. She began her career at a leisure complex, where she marketed and managed corporate events, collaborated on a strategy to increase schools business, and formed part of the management team: supporting staff and identifying organisational needs. She then moved to an Education Business Partnership to initiate business relationships and nurture links and partnerships between schools and business, promoting the development of ‘real world' skills, whilst overseeing the operations of the organisation.

Jessica spent her youth participating in dance, amateur dramatics and music. She is a practiced dancer, completing an intensive year with a community dance centre in Wales. She re-kindled her passion through a brief opportunity to teach young people with special educational needs and continues her own practice in her spare time. She is a 2nd Dan Black Belt in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do; loves to read in the garden; bake in the winter; sing wherever possible; and walk in the summer sun.
