Campaign!

Working together internationally to create change...

Campaign! is one of the 4 Accentuate projects being delivered through Create, Compete, Collaborate. Accentuate is the regional legacy project for the South East that aims to drive lasting change and promote excellence for disabled people.

Campaign! is a project working with young disabled people throughout the South East. The project aims to develop creative campaigns on issues that are relevant to participants including campaigns about the environment and media.

It also aims to celebrate collaboration between young disabled people in the South East with those from other countries as they work together to build campaigns around issues that affect them in their respective environments. This process will enable the young disabled people to respond to concepts of equality and global citizenship and to develop their understanding of how similar issues are experienced differently around the world.

Campaign! will engage at least 220 young disabled people over three years. To achieve this, 11 groups of 20 young disabled people will be created: 3 in 2010, 4 in 2011 and 5 in 2012.

In line with the CCC definition of ‘young person’, all participants will be under the age of 26 and engaged through a wide range of organisations across the region including schools, colleges, youth groups and other support networks.

Campaign! is also supported by Parliamentary Outreach at the Houses of Parliament. Parliamentary Outreach works to promote the role, relevance and function of Parliament in people's lives today.
