How can we find and make international connections?

·         Find out about your local Faith Groups

·         Have you or anyone you know been travelling – did they make companions along their way?

·         There are a wealth of volunteering abroad services

·         And gap year opportunities and organisations

·         Teachers may be a part of international partnering

·         Schools with international status

·         School exchanges

·         New arrivals to your community

·         Ask your friends and family

·         What about any local projects

·         Cultural Associations

·         Twinning towns

·         Local foreign amenities

·         Churches

 

When making new international connections, it is important to remember a few things:

·         Be specific in what connection you are looking for

·         Make your expectations clear

·         Offer something ‘real’

·         Keep regular contact

·         Be patient

·         Persevere

·         And be mindful of cultural and practical differences. e.g. time of day
