The pack will officially be launched on 18th September 2011 at the Slough Film Festival. A series of Shelter related films will also be screened at the festival. For more information please visit: www.sloughfilmfestival.co.uk

The pack is full of activity ideas that allows users to explore and investigate the theme of Shelter in fun and creative ways. Exploring the theme of Shelter allows young people to think differently about their environment and their neighbourhoods, encouraging them to look what issues are in their communities and discovering ways in which they can improve them.
The pack also includes many hints and tips for first time filmmakers on how they can turn their ideas into a short film or creative piece.

This Production Pack aims to encourage young people to use digital media to find out about communities locally and globally through their own lines of enquiry and investigation. Young people will be able to explore places and people using an online platform for communication and a sharing of values, beliefs and experiences. Our aim is to use this platform to break down invisible and visible borders and invoke curiosity about the wider world and others.

It aims to provide young people with the skills and confidence to use digital media to be creative and explore
concepts around identity and their relationship with their internal and external environment, sense of place, home, community and friendships. To do this we chose the universal theme of ‘shelter.’ the idea of shelter is one that is common to us all and at the same time be unique to the
Individual with their own experiences shaping their understanding of ‘shelter’.
